I hate discipline
It appears to take from me
Humans have such trouble
Why discourages me
Discipline is for survival
I can’t see spiritual war
As evil storms and rages
Discipline makes me whole
So easily my heart runs
To things that are not good
Try it and you will see it
Evil will get you good
Discipline equips me for service
It marches me in Christ’s way
Helping me to be growing
Knowing Jesus more each day
Discipline is the entry gate
To a Holy life in Christ
Becoming more like Jesus
Is the result of a disciplined life
Such a paradox for us humans
We want gifts and an easy way
Gifts do not equip us
Only discipline leads Christ’s way
