1. Jesus Never Intended Us to Walk Alone
Hebrews 10:24–25 — “Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…but exhorting one another.”
Jesus saves us personally, but He does not intend for us to follow Him privately. He places us among other believers because we need encouragement, correction, prayer, example, and friendship. There are days when someone else sees what Jesus is doing more clearly than we do.
Following Jesus means paying attention to the people walking beside us. “Consider one another” means I think about how I can help another person move closer to Christ. I am not merely asking, “How am I doing?” I am also asking, “Who can I help today?”
Meaning
- Jesus gives us one another.
- Christian fellowship has a purpose.
- We help each other keep walking.
- Nobody follows Jesus well in isolation.
Daily Walk
- Show up.
- Notice someone who is struggling.
- Encourage one person directly.
- Let another believer encourage you.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for the people You have put around me. Keep me from becoming isolated or self-centered. Help me notice the person who needs encouragement today. Use my words, my presence, and my life to help someone stay close to You. Amen.
Today, who has Jesus placed beside me that I can help follow Him?
2. Spur One Another Toward Love
Hebrews 10:24 — “Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.”
The word “spur” carries movement. We are supposed to move one another toward something, and the first thing Scripture names is love. Jesus does not merely want us to know more. He wants His love to become visible in the way we treat people.
Sometimes another believer needs a reminder: forgive him, call her, help them, listen, be patient, stop carrying the grudge. We encourage one another toward the kind of love Jesus has shown us.
Meaning
- Love requires action.
- Jesus is our example of love.
- We can help each other love better.
- Spiritual growth changes how we treat people.
Daily Walk
- Encourage kindness instead of criticism.
- Help someone forgive.
- Love a difficult person.
- Ask Jesus to make His love visible through you.
Prayer: Jesus, You have loved me when I did not deserve it. Teach me to love people the same way. Use me to encourage my brothers toward patience, forgiveness, kindness, and compassion. Let Your love become visible in us. Amen.
Is my influence today helping people love more like Jesus?
3. Spur One Another Toward Good Works
Hebrews 10:24 — “Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.”
Jesus did not save us simply so we could talk about faith. He changes us so that our lives begin to produce something good. Good works do not save us—Jesus saves us—but a life touched by Jesus should begin to look different.
Sometimes a brother needs somebody to say, “Come with me. Let’s do the right thing.” Serve somebody. Help somebody. Make the call. Apologize. Give. Show up. Tell someone about Jesus. We can move each other from good intentions into obedient action.
Meaning
- Jesus saves; good works follow.
- Faith should become visible.
- Encouragement should lead to action.
- We can help each other obey Jesus.
Daily Walk
- Do one good thing you have been postponing.
- Invite someone else to serve with you.
- Help rather than merely talk.
- Do the next right thing Jesus puts before you.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, keep my faith from becoming only words. Show me what obedience looks like today. Give me eyes to see what needs to be done and courage to do it. Help me encourage others to live out what we say we believe. Amen.
What good thing is Jesus asking me to do today?
4. Keep Showing Up
Hebrews 10:25 — “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…but exhorting one another.”
Showing up matters. We sometimes underestimate what our presence means to another person. A brother may come discouraged, ashamed, tired, tempted, or ready to quit. Simply being there gives us the opportunity to encourage him toward Jesus.
There will always be reasons to stay away. But Jesus calls us into fellowship because we need each other. Showing up is not merely attending something. It is making ourselves available for Jesus to use in somebody else’s life.
Meaning
- Presence matters.
- Fellowship protects us from isolation.
- Somebody may need us today.
- Jesus often works through ordinary relationships.
Daily Walk
- Be faithful where God has placed you.
- Do not disappear when life gets difficult.
- Welcome the person who comes in alone.
- Ask someone how they are really doing.
Prayer: Jesus, make me faithful. Keep me from withdrawing when I am tired, discouraged, or distracted. Help me understand that my presence may matter to someone else. Use me when I show up. Give me eyes to see the person who needs encouragement. Amen.
Where does Jesus need me to faithfully show up?
5. Encourage One Another Every Day
Hebrews 3:13 — “Exhort one another daily…lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”
Encouragement is not something we save for emergencies. Scripture says “daily.” We are surrounded by people fighting battles we may know nothing about. A few truthful words about Jesus can change the direction of someone’s day.
Biblical encouragement is more than saying, “Everything will be okay.” Sometimes it means reminding someone, “Jesus is with you. Jesus will forgive you. Jesus will strengthen you. Do not quit. Keep doing the next right thing.” Encouragement points people away from themselves and back to Christ.
Meaning
- Everyone needs encouragement.
- Sin works every day, so encouragement should too.
- Our words can strengthen another believer.
- The best encouragement brings people back to Jesus.
Daily Walk
- Encourage someone by name today.
- Speak truth, not empty compliments.
- Remind someone what Jesus has promised.
- Never underestimate a simple word of hope.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, put someone on my heart today who needs encouragement. Give me the right words and keep them simple and true. Help me point that person toward You rather than toward myself. Make me a man who strengthens others in their walk with Jesus. Amen.
Who needs to hear something true about Jesus from me today?
6. Get Close Enough to Build Someone Up
1 Thessalonians 5:11 — “Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”
You cannot build someone up very well from a distance. Jesus calls us into real contact with people—close enough to listen, close enough to notice, close enough to know when something is wrong. Encouragement becomes stronger when it grows out of relationship.
Building someone up does not mean flattering him. It means helping him become stronger in Jesus. Sometimes that is encouragement. Sometimes it is reminding him of truth. Sometimes it is simply sitting beside him and refusing to let him face the day alone.
Meaning
- Jesus moves us toward people.
- Real encouragement requires contact.
- We strengthen people with truth.
- Our goal is to help them stand in Jesus.
Daily Walk
- Move toward someone instead of waiting.
- Ask a real question.
- Listen carefully to the answer.
- Say something that strengthens his faith.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, keep me from living at a safe distance from people. Help me get close enough to listen, care, and encourage. Give me words that build rather than tear down. Use me to help someone stand stronger in You today. Amen.
Who needs more than a greeting from me today?
7. Help Carry What Is Crushing Someone
Galatians 6:2 — “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
Sometimes people do not need another piece of advice. They need someone to help carry the load. Jesus does not ask us merely to notice burdens; He tells us to help bear them.
That may mean listening to a painful story, making a phone call, giving someone a ride, helping with a need, praying beside him, or simply staying when leaving would be easier. We cannot remove every burden, but we can make sure somebody does not carry it alone.
Meaning
- Jesus cares about heavy burdens.
- Caring becomes practical.
- We cannot fix everyone.
- We can help carry what Jesus puts before us.
Daily Walk
- Ask someone what is weighing on him.
- Listen before giving advice.
- Help in one practical way.
- Carry the person to Jesus in prayer.
Prayer: Jesus, give me eyes to see the burden behind the smile. Keep me from walking past pain because I am busy or uncomfortable. Show me what I can carry and what I must place in Your hands. Make me useful to someone who is hurting today. Amen.
Whose burden can I help carry today?
8. Go After the Brother Who Is Falling
Galatians 6:1 — “If a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness.”
Jesus does not teach us to abandon people when they fall. He teaches restoration. That requires getting close enough to know what is happening and loving someone enough to become involved.
Restoration is not condemnation. It is helping someone turn back toward Jesus. We do not excuse sin, but neither do we throw away the sinner. We remember how many times Jesus has corrected, forgiven, restored, and carried us.
Meaning
- Falling does not have to be final.
- Jesus restores people.
- Truth and gentleness belong together.
- We go toward the fallen, not away from them.
Daily Walk
- Do not gossip about someone’s failure.
- Contact the person directly.
- Speak truth gently.
- Help him take the next step back toward Jesus.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, give me Your heart for people who stumble. Keep me from pride, judgment, and gossip. Give me courage to speak truth and tenderness to help restore. Remind me that I stand only because You have shown mercy to me. Amen.
Am I helping fallen people get back to Jesus, or merely talking about them?
9. Pray With People, Not Only for Them
James 5:16 — “Pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
There is a difference between saying, “I will pray for you,” and stopping to pray with someone. Both matter, but praying together creates a deeper point of contact. It takes the conversation immediately into the presence of Jesus.
We do not need polished prayers. We need honest prayers. “Jesus, help my brother. Give him strength. Forgive us. Guide us. Carry us through this.” Simple prayer reminds both people that the answer is not ultimately in us. It is in Him.
Meaning
- Prayer brings Jesus into the moment.
- We can pray anywhere.
- Simple prayers are enough.
- Praying together strengthens faith.
Daily Walk
- When someone shares a burden, offer to pray then.
- Use simple words.
- Pray specifically.
- Trust Jesus with what you cannot change.
Prayer: Jesus, teach me not merely to talk about prayer but to pray. Give me courage to stop in the middle of ordinary life and bring someone before You. Help me believe that You are present, listening, and working. Amen.
Who can I pray with today?
10. Love People Enough to Tell Them the Truth
Ephesians 4:15 — “Speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.”
Real love does not avoid truth. If someone is walking toward destruction, love speaks. But truth without love can become harsh, proud, and destructive. Jesus gives us both—truth that does not move and love that does not quit.
This requires deeper contact because people need to know that we care about them, not merely that we want to correct them. We earn the right to speak by listening, serving, praying, and staying close. Then when truth must be spoken, we speak it clearly and humbly.
The purpose is not to win an argument. The purpose is to help someone move toward Jesus.
Meaning
- Love does not hide truth.
- Truth does not excuse cruelty.
- Jesus is full of grace and truth.
- Correction should move people toward Christ.
Daily Walk
- Ask Jesus whether you need to speak.
- Check your motive before you speak.
- Be clear without being harsh.
- Stay close after the conversation.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, make me tender with people and faithful to truth. Keep me from cowardice that stays silent and pride that enjoys correction. Give me the right words, the right spirit, and the willingness to stay beside someone after the truth has been spoken. Amen.
Do people hear both the truth of Jesus and the love of Jesus when I speak?
11. Keep Bringing the Conversation Back to Jesus
Colossians 3:16 — “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another.”
We can talk about problems for hours and never get anywhere. Christian fellowship must eventually bring us back to Jesus. What does Jesus say? What has Jesus promised? What would obedience to Jesus look like here?
This does not mean forcing Jesus into every sentence. It means He is so central to our lives that He naturally becomes part of our conversations. When a brother is afraid, confused, angry, tempted, or discouraged, we help him look toward Christ.
Meaning
- Jesus belongs in our conversations.
- His Word gives direction.
- We remind each other what is true.
- Encouragement should lead back to Christ.
Daily Walk
- Listen carefully to someone’s struggle.
- Ask, “What does Jesus say about this?”
- Share a relevant truth from Scripture.
- Point toward Jesus, not merely your opinion.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, let Your Word live deeply in me so that I have something useful to give others. Keep me from offering only my opinions. Help my conversations bring people closer to You and Your truth. Amen.
When people talk with me, does the conversation eventually lead them toward Jesus?
12. Tell What Jesus Has Done for You
Mark 5:19 — “Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee.”
Jesus gave this man a simple assignment: go tell people what the Lord has done for you. He did not need theological training before he could speak. He already had something powerful to say because he had personally experienced Jesus.
Every believer has a story. I was lost and Jesus found me. I was guilty and Jesus forgave me. I was broken and Jesus began putting my life together. We do not have to make our testimony dramatic. We simply tell the truth about Jesus.
Meaning
- Your story matters.
- Jesus is the center of the testimony.
- You do not have to know everything.
- Tell what you know Jesus has done.
Daily Walk
- Think through your story in simple words.
- Keep Jesus at the center.
- Tell someone when the opportunity comes.
- Do not exaggerate—just tell the truth.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for what You have done in my life. Keep me from being silent about Your mercy. Give me opportunities to tell people simply and clearly how You found me, forgave me, changed me, and continue to carry me. Amen.
Can I tell someone in two minutes what Jesus has done for me?
13. Do Not Be Ashamed of Jesus
Romans 1:16 — “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.”
There comes a point when encouragement must move outside our Christian circle. People around us need Jesus, and somebody has to tell them. Paul was not ashamed because he knew the Gospel was not merely religious information. God uses the Gospel to save people.
Fear can silence us. We worry about rejection, embarrassment, or saying the wrong thing. But the issue is bigger than our comfort. We know the One who saves. We should not hide Him.
Meaning
- The Gospel is about Jesus.
- Jesus still saves.
- Fear should not control our witness.
- People need to hear.
Daily Walk
- Ask Jesus for courage.
- Do not hide that you belong to Him.
- Speak when an opportunity opens.
- Leave the results with God.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me when fear makes me silent. Give me courage without making me pushy or proud. Help me care more about the person who needs You than about protecting my own comfort. Give me opportunities to speak Your name today. Amen.
Who might never hear about Jesus if people like me remain silent?
14. Follow Jesus and Go After People
Matthew 4:19 — “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Jesus connected following Him with reaching people. “Follow Me” comes first. We stay close to Jesus, learn from Jesus, obey Jesus, and He begins changing what matters to us. Eventually the people Jesus loves begin to matter deeply to us.
Jesus did not tell His disciples merely to become better men. He prepared them to reach other people. The closer we walk with Christ, the more aware we should become of the people around us who do not know Him.
Meaning
- Following Jesus changes our purpose.
- Jesus cares about lost people.
- Disciples become witnesses.
- We follow Him into people’s lives.
Daily Walk
- Stay close to Jesus.
- Notice the people around you.
- Ask who needs Christ.
- Take one step toward that person.
Prayer: Jesus, I want to follow You wherever You lead. Give me Your concern for people who do not know You. Keep me from becoming comfortable with a faith that never reaches anybody else. Make me useful in bringing people toward You. Amen.
If I am following Jesus, who am I following Him toward?
15. Jesus Uses Ordinary People to Tell Extraordinary News
Acts 1:8 — “Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me.”
Jesus did not tell His disciples to manufacture power or become impressive speakers. He promised the Holy Spirit and told them they would be His witnesses. A witness simply tells what he knows to be true.
That should take pressure off us. Saving people is Jesus’ work. Changing hearts is Jesus’ work. Our work is to stay available, walk in the Spirit, love the person in front of us, and faithfully tell what we know about Christ.
Meaning
- Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit.
- Witnessing does not depend on personality.
- We tell what we know about Christ.
- Jesus handles the results.
Daily Walk
- Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.
- Be available.
- Speak simply about Jesus.
- Trust Him with the response.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I cannot change anyone’s heart, but You can. Fill me with Your Spirit and make me available today. Help me listen, love, speak clearly, and trust You with whatever happens. Give me courage to tell someone about You. Amen.
Am I available for Jesus to use me in someone else’s life today?
16. Start With the People Already Around You
John 1:40–42 — “One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon…And he brought him to Jesus.”
Andrew did not begin with a crowd. He began with his brother. That may be one of the simplest pictures of evangelism in the Bible: he knew Jesus, he thought about someone he loved, and he brought that person toward Christ.
We sometimes make witnessing harder than it is. Start where you are. Family. Friends. People at work. Someone you see every week. Ask Jesus to show you who is already within reach.
Meaning
- Witness begins close to home.
- Relationships create opportunities.
- We do not have to reach everyone at once.
- Bring one person toward Jesus.
Daily Walk
- Think of one person close to you.
- Pray for that person by name.
- Look for a natural opportunity to talk.
- Invite him toward Jesus.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, show me the people You have already placed around me. Keep me from looking so far away that I miss the person beside me. Give me courage, wisdom, and love to help one person move closer to You. Amen.
Who is my Peter—the person already close to me whom I can bring toward Jesus?
17. Sometimes the Best Invitation Is “Come and See”
John 1:45–46 — “Philip findeth Nathanael…Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.”
Nathanael had questions. Philip did not argue every point. He simply invited him to encounter Jesus. That is still useful today. We do not have to answer every objection before someone can begin moving toward Christ.
Invite people to read the Gospel with you. Invite them to church. Invite them to sit with believers. Tell them what Jesus has done and say, in effect, “Come and see.”
Meaning
- Questions do not have to frighten us.
- We do not need every answer.
- Jesus can reveal Himself.
- Simple invitations matter.
Daily Walk
- Listen to someone’s question.
- Do not become defensive.
- Invite rather than argue.
- Help the person take one step toward Jesus.
Prayer: Jesus, keep me from turning conversations about You into arguments. Help me listen well and answer what I can. When I do not know the answer, give me the humility to say so and the confidence to keep pointing toward You. Amen.
Who could I simply invite to come and see Jesus?
18. Tell the Part of Your Story You Know Is True
John 9:25 — “One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.”
The healed man did not know everything. He did know what Jesus had done to him. That gave him something clear and powerful to say.
Our testimony works the same way. We do not need to explain every difficult doctrine. We can say, “This is who I was. This is how Jesus met me. This is what He is changing in me.” People may debate theology, but they cannot easily dismiss the reality of a changed life.
Meaning
- Tell what you know.
- Keep your story truthful.
- Make Jesus the reason for the change.
- A changed life supports the message.
Daily Walk
- Remember what Jesus has changed.
- Describe it simply.
- Avoid making yourself the hero.
- Give Jesus the credit.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me remember clearly what You have done in me. Keep my testimony simple, honest, and centered on You. Give me the opportunity to tell someone how different my life is because You came into it. Amen.
Can people see enough change in me that my words about Jesus make sense?
19. Let Jesus Come Up Naturally in Ordinary Life
Deuteronomy 6:6–7 — “These words…shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently…and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way.”
God’s truth was meant to be part of ordinary life. We talk about what matters to us. If Jesus truly matters to us, His name, His truth, and what He is doing will naturally enter our conversations.
We do not need to force a sermon into every conversation. We simply stop hiding Jesus. When someone asks why we have hope, why we forgive, why we changed, why we pray, or why we live differently, Jesus is already standing in the doorway of the conversation.
Meaning
- Jesus belongs in everyday life.
- Witness does not require a formal setting.
- Ordinary conversations can become holy moments.
- We should not hide the reason for our hope.
Daily Walk
- Speak naturally about what Jesus is teaching you.
- Mention prayer when it is appropriate.
- Give Jesus credit for His work.
- Listen for open doors in conversation.
Prayer: Jesus, make talking about You as natural as talking about anything else that matters deeply to me. Keep me from forcing conversations, but also keep me from hiding You. Help me recognize the doors You open today. Amen.
Is Jesus such a normal part of my life that His name naturally becomes part of my conversation?
20. Notice the Person Everyone Else Walks Past
John 4:7, 9–10 — “There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink…If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee…thou wouldest have asked of him.”
Jesus spoke to someone many people would have avoided. She was a Samaritan, a woman, and a person carrying a complicated past. None of that kept Jesus from seeing her, speaking with her, and offering her living water.
If we are going to tell everyone about Jesus, we must stop deciding who looks worth our time. The lonely person, the difficult person, the addict, the angry person, the poor person, the person with a past—Jesus sees people whom others overlook.
Meaning
- Jesus sees the overlooked.
- Nobody is beneath the Gospel.
- Past failure does not remove someone’s value.
- We must cross barriers to reach people.
Daily Walk
- Notice who is being ignored.
- Make eye contact.
- Start a simple conversation.
- Treat the person as someone Jesus loves.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, give me Your eyes for people. Forgive me for the times I have judged someone before knowing them or walked past someone because they seemed difficult. Help me see the person others miss and love them enough to make contact. Amen.
Who have I been walking past that Jesus may be asking me to see?
21. Do Not Decide Who Will Listen
Luke 19:5–6 — “Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.”
Most people would not have chosen Zacchaeus. He was disliked, distrusted, and probably written off by many people around him. Jesus saw him differently. Jesus saw a man who needed salvation.
We can make the same mistake. We decide who seems interested, who looks too hard, who has failed too badly, or who would probably reject us. Jesus never told us to make that decision. Our responsibility is to love, speak, and invite. Jesus works in hearts.
Meaning
- We cannot see another person’s heart.
- Nobody is beyond Jesus.
- Our judgment can keep us from witnessing.
- Jesus chooses people we might overlook.
Daily Walk
- Stop labeling people as hopeless.
- Pray for someone you think would never listen.
- Start the conversation anyway.
- Trust Jesus with the response.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me when I decide ahead of time who will listen and who will not. Help me see people as You see them. Give me courage to speak even when I do not expect much response. You know the heart. I do not. Use me wherever You choose. Amen.
Who have I decided would never want Jesus?
22. Make Room for Broken People
Luke 15:1–2 — “Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. And the Pharisees…murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners.”
Broken people were willing to come close to Jesus. That tells us something important about Him. Jesus never approved of sin, but sinners knew they could approach Him. They could listen. They could ask questions. They could sit near Him.
That should challenge us. If the people who need Jesus most are afraid to come near us, something may be wrong. We must hold tightly to truth while making room for people who are still struggling, still confused, and still carrying a lot of damage.
Meaning
- Jesus received broken people.
- Receiving someone does not mean approving everything.
- People need a place where they can hear truth.
- Love can open the door for repentance.
Daily Walk
- Welcome someone who feels out of place.
- Listen without immediately correcting.
- Do not act shocked by another person’s past.
- Keep pointing toward Jesus.
Prayer: Jesus, give me Your heart for broken people. Keep me from making people feel that they must clean themselves up before they can come near. Help me receive them, listen to them, tell them the truth, and lead them toward You. Amen.
Can broken people get close enough to me to hear about Jesus?
23. Tell the Truth About Sin
Romans 3:23 — “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
We cannot explain why people need Jesus without talking about sin. Sin is not merely bad habits or poor choices. Sin separates us from God. Every one of us is guilty. That keeps us from speaking down to anyone because we stand in the same need.
We tell the truth about sin because we want people to understand the greatness of salvation. Jesus did not come merely to improve our lives. He came to save sinners.
Meaning
- Everyone has sinned.
- Sin is our deepest problem.
- We speak as sinners who have received mercy.
- Jesus came to save us from sin.
Daily Walk
- Do not soften what God calls sin.
- Do not speak with superiority.
- Include yourself when talking about sin.
- Move the conversation toward Jesus.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me speak truthfully about sin without becoming harsh or self-righteous. Keep me aware of how much You have forgiven me. Give me love for people who are still trapped in what You have rescued me from. Amen.
When I talk about sin, do people also hear the mercy of Jesus?
24. Take People to the Cross
1 Corinthians 15:3 — “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.”
Sooner or later, every Gospel conversation must get to the Cross. Jesus did not merely come to teach us how to live. He died for our sins. He took our guilt and judgment upon Himself.
We can talk about church, morality, recovery, better decisions, family, and changed behavior, but none of those things is the Gospel. The center is Jesus Christ crucified for sinners.
Keep it simple: I sinned. I could not save myself. Jesus died for my sins. Jesus is my only hope.
Meaning
- The Cross is central.
- Jesus died for our sins.
- We cannot save ourselves.
- Our hope is in Christ alone.
Daily Walk
- Keep the Gospel centered on Jesus.
- Explain the Cross simply.
- Do not replace salvation with self-improvement.
- Remember what His blood has done for you.
Prayer: Jesus, never let me move beyond Your Cross. Thank You for taking my sin and giving Your life for me. When I speak to others, help me make the Gospel clear. Keep me from offering people a better life without first offering them the Savior. Amen.
When I tell someone about Jesus, do I eventually take him to the Cross?
25. Tell Them Jesus Is Alive
1 Corinthians 15:4 — “And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
The Gospel does not end at the grave. Jesus rose. We are not asking people merely to admire a man who died two thousand years ago. We are inviting them to trust the living Lord.
Because Jesus is alive, He can save today. He can forgive today. He can change a life today. He can walk with us today. Our witness has hope because the One we are talking about is alive.
Meaning
- Jesus really died.
- Jesus really rose.
- Jesus is alive now.
- We offer people a living Savior.
Daily Walk
- Speak about Jesus as present, not merely historical.
- Tell what He is doing in you now.
- Let His resurrection give you confidence.
- Invite people to trust the living Christ.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are alive. Thank You that my faith is not built around a memory but around a living Savior. Give me confidence to tell people that You still save, forgive, restore, and change lives today. Let my life show that I am walking with Someone who is alive. Amen.
Do I speak about Jesus like He is alive and present with me today?
26. Tell People Jesus Saves
Acts 4:12 — “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
We must be clear about what we are offering people. Christianity is not simply better habits, stronger character, church attendance, or a new way to think. We need a Savior, and His name is Jesus.
Jesus saves us by His shed blood. He took our sin upon Himself, died in our place, and rose again. Our hope is not that we can repair ourselves. Our hope is that Jesus has done what we could never do.
Meaning
- Jesus alone saves.
- We cannot save ourselves.
- His blood paid for our sin.
- Salvation is found in Christ alone.
Daily Walk
- Keep Jesus at the center.
- Do not confuse improvement with salvation.
- Speak clearly about why He died.
- Thank Jesus for saving you.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for saving me when I could never save myself. Keep my message simple and clear. Help me never substitute religion, morality, or self-improvement for the salvation You purchased with Your blood. Give me courage to tell people that their hope is in You. Amen.
When I tell someone about salvation, is Jesus clearly the Savior?
27. Tell People They Can Come to Jesus Now
John 6:37 — “Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
People often think they must improve before Jesus will receive them. They think, “I need to stop this first. I need to fix myself. I need to get my life together.” But if we could make ourselves right, we would not need a Savior.
Jesus receives sinners who come to Him. We do not clean ourselves up and then come. We come because we need Him to forgive, cleanse, change, and lead us.
Meaning
- Jesus receives sinners.
- Nobody fixes himself first.
- We come as we are.
- Jesus begins changing us after we come.
Daily Walk
- Do not make unnecessary barriers.
- Tell people Jesus receives those who come.
- Never imply they must become respectable first.
- Invite them toward Christ now.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You that You received me when I needed mercy. Help me never make someone think he must become worthy before coming to You. Give me simple words to tell people that You are ready to receive, forgive, and begin a new work in them. Amen.
Am I making it clear that people can come to Jesus right where they are?
28. Live So People Can See Jesus
Matthew 5:16 — “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Our lives do not replace the Gospel, but they can support what we say about Jesus. If we speak about Christ while living selfishly, dishonestly, angrily, or carelessly, people notice the contradiction.
A changed life gives weight to our words. Patience, honesty, forgiveness, generosity, humility, and love create opportunities to explain why we are different. The goal is not for people to admire us. The goal is for them to see Jesus working in us.
Meaning
- Our lives should support our witness.
- Jesus changes behavior.
- Good works point beyond us.
- People should see Christ in the difference.
Daily Walk
- Keep your word.
- Treat people fairly.
- Forgive quickly.
- Give Jesus credit for the change.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, let my life agree with my words. Change the places in me that would make someone question what I say about You. Make my actions useful in opening doors for the Gospel. Let people see something of You in the way I live today. Amen.
Does the way I live make someone more interested in the Jesus I talk about?
29. Be Ready to Explain Why You Have Hope
1 Peter 3:15 — “Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you.”
We do not need an answer to every question in the Bible. But every believer should be able to explain why he trusts Jesus. What did Jesus do? Why do you believe Him? What difference has He made in your life?
Keep it simple. Jesus found me. Jesus forgave me. Jesus died for me. Jesus rose again. Jesus is changing me. Jesus gives me hope. That is something every follower of Christ can learn to say.
Meaning
- Know what you believe.
- Know why you trust Jesus.
- Keep your answer simple.
- Speak with humility and respect.
Daily Walk
- Practice explaining your hope.
- Use Scripture when you can.
- Admit when you do not know an answer.
- Keep bringing the conversation back to Jesus.
Prayer: Jesus, help me understand my faith well enough to explain it simply. Give me wisdom when people ask questions and humility when I do not know the answer. Let my confidence be in You, not in my ability to argue. Amen.
Can I clearly explain why Jesus is my hope?
30. Do More Than Get a Decision—Help Make a Disciple
Matthew 28:19–20 — “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.”
Jesus told us to make disciples. That means our concern for someone should not end when he first believes. New believers need help learning Scripture, praying, obeying Jesus, fighting temptation, staying in fellowship, and telling others what Christ has done.
This brings us back to the beginning of the study. We tell someone about Jesus, and then we begin spurring that person toward love, good works, obedience, and maturity. Evangelism and discipleship belong together.
Meaning
- Jesus calls us to make disciples.
- New believers need help.
- We teach people to obey Christ.
- Disciples eventually help make other disciples.
Daily Walk
- Stay connected to someone you have encouraged toward Christ.
- Read Scripture together.
- Pray together.
- Help him take the next right step with Jesus.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me care about people beyond one conversation. Give me patience to walk beside new believers as they learn to follow You. Teach me how to encourage, correct, pray, and keep pointing them back to Your Word. Amen.
Who am I helping learn how to actually follow Jesus?
31. Keep Spurring—Keep Telling—Until Jesus Comes
Hebrews 10:24–25 — “Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works…exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
We finish where we began. Spur one another. Encourage one another. Stay together. Keep each other close to Jesus. But now we understand why this matters so much: there are still people around us who need to hear about Christ.
We strengthen one another so that we can keep going outward. We help the brother beside us follow Jesus, and together we tell the person in front of us about Jesus. We keep doing that for as long as the Lord gives us breath.
Jesus is coming again. Until then, there is work to do and people to love.
Meaning
- Keep following Jesus.
- Keep strengthening one another.
- Keep telling people about Christ.
- Never forget that Jesus is coming again.
Daily Walk
- Encourage one believer.
- Pray for one lost person.
- Speak about Jesus when the door opens.
- Do the next right thing until He comes.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, keep me faithful. Let me spend the life You have given me helping people follow You and telling others how they can know You. Keep me close to You, useful to my brothers, and attentive to the people You place in front of me. Until You call me home or return for us, help me keep doing the next right thing for Your glory. Amen.
Today, who can I spur toward Jesus, and who can I tell about Jesus?
